Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a huddle?
Open the app, go to the My Huddles tab, tap the + button, and fill out your huddle details (name, commitment type, duration, visibility). You can optionally add a cover photo and check-in rules.
How do I invite friends to a huddle?
Open the huddle, tap the options menu in the top-right, and choose "Invite to Huddle." You'll get a shareable link that can be sent via any messaging app. Recipients tap the link to preview and join the huddle.
How do I change my username or profile photo?
Go to your Profile tab, tap "Edit Profile," and update your username, display name, bio, or photo. Usernames can be changed once every 30 days.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your account is deactivated immediately and hidden from other users. You have a 15-day grace period to reactivate by signing back in — after that, your data is permanently deleted.
How do I download my data?
Settings → Account → Download My Data. We'll generate a JSON export with your profile, huddles, check-ins, friends, and activity history. You can save it or share it from the system share sheet.
How do I report inappropriate content or a user?
Tap the three-dot menu on any check-in or profile and choose "Report." Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. To block a user, tap the three-dot menu on their profile and select "Block." Blocked users can't see your content and you won't see theirs.
I'm not getting push notifications
Check your device Settings → Notifications → Huddle and make sure notifications are allowed. In the app, go to Settings → Notifications to enable specific notification types (pokes, comments, likes, friend requests, huddle check-ins).
Someone invited me but the link doesn't open the app
Make sure you have the latest version of Huddle installed. If you don't have the app yet, the link will take you to the App Store. Once installed, tap the invite link again — it should open directly in the app.
How do I rejoin a huddle I left?
For public huddles, you can rejoin freely. For community and private huddles, rejoining is restricted to prevent abuse — ask the huddle creator to invite you again.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), stored in secure databases, and access is strictly controlled via row-level security policies. We never sell your data. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Troubleshooting
The app is slow or unresponsive
Force-close the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, restart your device. Make sure you're on the latest version of Huddle from the App Store.
My photo won't upload
Check your internet connection. If you're on a weak network, try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular. Check-ins made offline will upload automatically once you're back online.
Sign-in isn't working
If you deactivated your account and are trying to sign back in, make sure it's within the 15-day grace period. If you're signing in with Apple and the name field is empty, it's because Apple only provides your name on the first sign-in — enter it manually to complete registration.
